Twin Pike YMCA Free Youth Volleyball Night, Saturday, Jan. 11

All kids grades sixth through eighth in the Twin Pike area are invited to come to a safe and fun youth volleyball night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Twin Pike Family YMCA on Saturday, Jan. 11. We will randomly split youth into teams and play pick-up games. Parents must come inside and sign their kids into and out of the facility.


9th Annual Sneakers and Snowflakes – Ugly Holiday Sweater 5K

This event will be hosted by the Twin Pike Family YMCA on Jan. 25.

Sport your best ugly holiday sweater while participating in a scenic run throughout the town of Louisiana beginning and ending at the river front. Participants should arrive no later than 10 a.m. Prize to the person wearing the Most Festive Sweater and to medalists in each age category.

Twin Pike Family Division I Basketball (First and Second Grades)

This co-ed program teaches basic skills and fundamentals. Coaches are helping on the court teaching players during the games. Games run every Saturday for five weeks beginning Feb. 22. Teams will be made by towns and drawn by lottery.

Twin Pike Family Hoops and Scoops Basketball

A co-ed program designed for Pre-K and Kindergarten children. An introduction to basketball, this program focuses primarily on skill development where everyone is a winner. Volunteer coaches will teach fundamentals and skills. Play begins Feb. 22. Teams will be made by towns and drawn by lottery.

Twin Pike Family YMCA Cheerleading

Cheerleading offers the opportunity for kids to develop self-reliance and self-confidence on an individual level, while emphasizing the importance of teamwork within the squad. Participants will be taught age-appropriate cheers and tumbling. Participants will also experience the performance aspect of cheerleading, as they cheer on the sidelines during a YMCA basketball game. A YMCA cheerleading shirt and equipment will be provided to each participant. (Tennis shoes are required for all practices) Session will run for four weeks on Saturdays.

Twin Pike Family Youth Volleyball Clinic

Youth Volleyball will be offered to all youth in grades fourth through eighth. This Clinic is designed to teach the fundamentals of the game to young players and to improve on existing skills. The Clinic will be held for two weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for one hour.
