A clutch leader for the Twin Pike Family YMCA, Barbie has been instructing aerobics classes for the Y the last 14 years.

A lifetime resident of Pike County she has also served on the YMCA Board of Directors and is currently serving on the Pike County Fair Board as well as the Pike County and Bowling Green Khoury League Boards.

Nurturing neighborhood children and creating a love for the games of baseball and softball is a great joy in Barbie’s life as are her own children and family.

Married to Steve Gamm for 32 years, they have three children: Jenny, married to Drew, Tyler, and Scott, married to Jodi.

An inspirational instructor teaching in various clubs for almost 25 years, Barbie motivates her own group fitness class at the YMCA in Louisiana, dubbed “Variety Aerobics” for its composition of Step, 30/30, and Turbo Jam workouts.

The classes taught Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 5:30 a.m., can easily be modified to benefit people of a wide range of ability levels.

Her community class is attended typically by early risers who are motivated to get their day started off on the right track.
